Meet the Team

Daniel Kogoy
Co-Founder

Daniel Kogoy’s interest in money, its history, and its role in society was sparked by the Global Financial Crisis. This curiosity deepened over time, but it wasn’t until the second Sydney COVID-19 lockdown in 2021 that Daniel, like many others who entered the world of Bitcoin, experienced a pivotal moment that served as a catalyst. For Daniel, that moment came during the second Sydney COVID-19 lockdown in 2021. With holiday travel banned for four months, his short-term rental business, My Air Host, faced significant challenges. This prompted Daniel to research systems and assets that cannot be shut down by governments, leading him to Bitcoin.

Daniel has a proven history of helping companies drive growth and profitability across the renewable energy, sustainability, and short-term rental sectors. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management. Over the past 15 years, he has held various leadership roles in sustainability, renewable energy, and local government. Daniel served as an elected local government councillor on Leichhardt Council from 2008 to 2016.

Daniel brings a unique combination of expertise in finance, environmental stewardship, and governance to his work at Bitcoin on Balance, helping educate businesses on how to integrate Bitcoin into their financial strategies.

Andrea Gonzalez
Co-Founder

Andrea became interested in Bitcoin after witnessing the transformative impacts it has had in El Salvador under President Bukele’s leadership. By adopting a Bitcoin Standard, El Salvador has reduced its reliance on the International Monetary Fund, enhanced safety for its citizens, and inspired investment from the expatriate community, with many returning to the country.

Originally from Colombia, Andrea sees immense potential for a similar approach to foster peace and prosperity in her home country. She envisions Bitcoin as a tool for economic empowerment and sustainable growth in Colombia and her adopted Australia.

As an engineer, Andrea became fascinated by the mathematics and engineering underpinning the Bitcoin network, particularly its decentralised structure and its potential to make renewable energy projects more economically viable. Her technical expertise deepened her appreciation for how Bitcoin can drive innovation and resilience in both financial systems and energy markets.

Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Water Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of New South Wales. With over a decade of experience in water engineering in Australia, she brings a wealth of technical expertise and a passion for innovation to her work at Bitcoin on Balance, helping businesses explore the financial and societal benefits of Bitcoin adoption.
